The 44th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing

The Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS) is an annual event hosted by member countries of the Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS). ACRS 2023 serves as an international platform for participants across regions and sectors to meet and deliberate on the latest advances in remote sensing and related technologies. This year’s ACRS was held in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall 2 (TaiNEX 2), from 30th October to 3rd November 2023, as the first face-to-face ACRS since 2019.
21AT Asia participated in this year’s ACRS in a research capacity, presenting two different remote sensing research during the technical sessions.
Ms Nah Min Er presented on her research, titled “Burned Area Detection using High Spatial Resolution 4 Bands TripleSat Imagery”, an optical satellite data-based research on analyzing methodologies to extract burn scars from various natural or man-made activities, such as Australia’s forest fires. This is useful in assisting various agencies and stakeholders to access damages, and accurately allocating resources for recovery efforts.
Mr Randy Chua presented on the topic titled “A Comparative Study of Time-series Reconstruction Methodologies On the Google Earth Engine Platform”. This paper was a culmination of the 21AT Asia Research and Development team’s efforts to address optical satellite data’s weakness along the temporal domain due to missing data points. This research serves as the foundation for 21AT Asia’s Research and Development expansions into deeper temporal-based geospatial research through our access to high spatial resolution satellite data like the TripleSat and the BJ3 series.
